Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how the Tune Equalizer & Bass Booster app ("we", "our", "the app"), developed by TechBee, handles information when you use it on your Android device. By installing or using the app, you agree to the terms of this policy.
1. Information We Collect
The app itself does not ask you to sign in, does not create an account, and does not collect personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, or files stored on your device.
The app stores your preferences — equalizer band gains, bass boost, virtualizer, loudness, reverb, compressor, limiter, balance, custom presets, per-device auto-apply rules, theme/skin, and similar settings — locally on your device only, using Android DataStore and Room. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly back it up through Android's built-in backup service.
2. Data Collected by Third-Party Services
The app uses the following third-party SDKs, which may collect data as described in their own privacy policies:
a) Google AdMob (advertising)
We display ads served by Google AdMob to support the free version of the app. AdMob may collect and use:
- Advertising ID (AAID)
- Approximate (non-precise) location derived from IP
- Device information (model, OS version, language, network type)
- Ad interaction events (impressions, clicks)
This data is used for ad delivery, frequency capping, fraud prevention, and measurement. You can reset or opt out of personalized ads at any time from your device: Settings → Google → Ads → Delete/reset advertising ID.
Learn more: Google Ads Privacy.
b) Firebase Analytics
Firebase Analytics collects anonymous usage data such as app opens, screen views, feature usage, session duration, and device/OS information. This helps us understand how features are used and improve the app.
Learn more: Firebase Privacy Policy.
c) Firebase Crashlytics
Firebase Crashlytics collects crash reports including device model, OS version, app version, and stack traces to help us identify and fix bugs quickly.
Learn more: Firebase Privacy Policy.
3. Permissions the App Requests
The app requests the following Android permissions strictly to provide its features. None of them are used to collect or transmit personal data on their own:
- Internet — required for ads, analytics, and crash reporting.
- Modify Audio Settings — core functionality; applies the equalizer and audio effects to system audio.
- Foreground Service / Foreground Service Special Use — keeps audio effects active while the app is in the background.
- Post Notifications — shows the equalizer status notification.
- Vibrate — optional haptic feedback on fader snap and preset selection.
The app does not use the Android Accessibility Service, does not read your screen content, and does not access contacts, SMS, call logs, camera, microphone, precise location, or the files on your device.
4. Children's Privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information through a third-party service embedded in the app, please contact us and we will work with the provider to have it removed.
5. Data Retention
Because the app does not send your personal data to our servers, we do not retain any personal data. Preferences stored locally on your device are removed when you uninstall the app or clear its storage. Analytics and crash data are retained by Firebase according to their data retention policies; ad data is managed by Google according to their privacy policies.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share personal information. The only data flowing out of the app is what is handled by Google (AdMob, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics) as described above.
7. Your Choices
- Ads: Reset or opt out of personalized ads via Android Settings → Google → Ads.
- Notifications: Turn off the foreground service notification channel in Android Settings → Apps → Tune Equalizer & Bass Booster → Notifications (this may reduce reliability).
- Uninstall: Uninstalling the app removes all local data.
8. Security
All data transmitted to third-party services is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. Local data is stored in your device's private app storage, accessible only to the app. We take reasonable measures to protect the small amount of local data the app stores. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping your device secure.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes are posted means you accept the revised policy.
